Voidspace Dispatches: January 2026 - workshops, Jubensha and the path to insanity

Happy new year everyone!

Trying new things appears to be the theme in the interactive arts world right now, as workshops spring up in London and online.

2026 offers the opportunity to find out more about the unique theatre-making behind Bridge Command, physical and site-specific immersive from Vinicius Salles, Third Rail Projects and Enfants Terribles, and develop your own voice in an Immersive Makers Jam from Chloe Mashiter and Gryph Griffin. Plus Portals, a wide ranging interactive design course at the V&A.

Equally exciting is the opportunity to learn about and experience Jubensha - China’s most interactive performance trend - at Jubensha Con 2026, the first English language conference dedicated to this exciting emerging (in the West at least) artform.

The Voidspace is experiencing its own period of rejuvenation, as we jump into preparing for Voidspace Live 2026. The open call for artists is open until the end of February, with an online Q&A on 25 January 2026.

For those of you who would rather experience the festival as audience participants, you have one more week to secure early bird tickets (and to give a little extra support, and secure priority registration to boot). Sign up here, while you can.

You can also catch Voidspace 14: a new edition of our flagship interactive fiction zine.

We are excited about what 2026 has to offer - and can’t wait to share it with you.

The Void loves you!
